Welcome to Emily's website!

Award-winning author Emily Pohl-Weary has been called "mistress of the empty girls" (Broken Pencil), "an unconventional and modern day hero" (Young People's Press) and "the new, sleazy, Judy Blume" (Uniter). 

She has published five books (a biography, a female superhero anthology, a collection of poetry and two novels) as well as a four-issue comic, Violet Miranda: Girl Pirate, illustrated by Willow Dawson.

In 2008, she founded the Parkdale Street Writers, a weekly writing workshop for street-involved youth in the working-poor neighborhood where she grew up. For eight years, she edited Kiss Machine, a renegade literary and fine arts magazine.
